![]() The 1&2 well worth the play too for different reason, the 3 is the best for puzzles/problems/srecrets, the 1 is the more tricky, the 2 is the bigger and perhaps overall the best at least it's a common opinion. But it's the only one that match DoS quality and approach a bit the DoS density, for puzzles/tricks/problems to solve/secrets to find. Eschalon Book 3: Unlike all other I list, this one isn't party based. That's quite wrong, in fact the writing is on purpose light but quite good and with plenty good soft eroticism, there's plenty good companions, multiple choices, solid combat system, like Blackguard it use a special approach for travels, but it still builds the feeling to progress through a world area. Loren The Amazon Princess with its DLC: If you check it you'll feel its a second grade RPG focusing on porn. And interesting design around 3 main quests that you can progress in any order you want and mix as you want (or almost) the progression in those 3 main quests, and eventually you can choose achieve only one. Avernum Escape from the Pit: Huge, quite interesting, solid class system, good combats.More indie, but it's more with effects on UI design quality/polishing level/graphics detail and quality, than effects on gameplay: Some very strong points as events and companions, many good elements for the explorations gameplay, and solid more classical RPG elements as the combats, NPC and dialogs, some more. Expeditions Conquistador: An original RPG with a large element of the gameplay build around the idea of expeditions. The Banner Saga: An original extension to video game of "write your own adventure" book, roster approach, multiple flaws but interesting writing even if not always pro, original but good combats, more. It's excellent use of text and writing quality gives it a strong old school mood that is quite pleasant. It's still a worthy special RPG, and its writing quality is on top as for Dragonfall but have even a plus with a style evolving as the game progress. It's a special RPG, not at same quality level than its extension Dragonfall, and shorter (about 15 hours not rushed and with some digging). Shadowrun Returns: The base game with its own campaign, Dead's Man Switch. Not exactly at same overall quality level than those of the first list, but still very worthy and turn based: Even at normal difficulty at first play it is challenging and it has a difficulty and difficulty rising quite well tuned. Clearly its character/party building and combats that are its best points, including many tricks to find or decipher during multiple combats. Blackguards: On paper it seems just a series of combats, in practice it feels really like a full RPG with a rather uncommon approach.Might & Magic X: Great combats, many good puzzles, good exploration including a quite good "spot gameplay", very interesting party build, worth much better than its fame.It requires have a the base game Shadowrun Returns. To compensate there's many great points, not only the writing but also plenty little consequences, plnety alternate dialogs or choices coming from character build specifics, very good combats, more. But it's hub+missions, limited inventory missions, no real drops, some more. ![]()
